James describes himself as both introvert and extrovert — a hybrivert.
His varied vocations and many experiences give him a unique perspective on life’s many challenges — and how to solve them.
James has over three decades of experience as an originating writer, producing hundreds of multi-volume documents, including white papers, procedures, manuals, and policies across a range of business, technical, and church disciplines. These days, he lends his expertise with unique e-discovery opportunities to large and medium organizations.
But that’s not the whole story…
My passion is to write. I love writing books which help others tackle life’s many challenges. I’m drawn to Christian and various business subjects, but other genres as well. Since you’re here, I’m guessing you are someone who shares my passion for reading and learning. I hope my writing is easy to read and helpful to your life. Whether you’re looking to deepen your faith or simply expand your horizons, the articles here should speak to you. —James Ridley
In 1978 James joined Boy Scout Troop 21 in Healdsburg, CA where he met lifelong friend Bryan. Through that friendship, James came to know Christ as a teen, and soon thereafter developed an affection for reading the Bible. Learning the old English of Scripture substantially improved his reading skills and launched a lifelong journey of studying God’s words. He is an active Sunday school teacher, policy adviser, has preached often, and continues to serve in various local church roles.
Responding to some turns in life and spiritual growth, he now propels his many years of manuscript expertise and numerous experiences into writing books which help others. His great desire is to help people face difficult times in life, expand their knowledge and wisdom, and grow spiritually. James writes in several genres and is especially interested in writing which points others to the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He served in the US Navy where he led shipboard Bible studies, seeing men saved and baptized into local churches. He lives in the Napa Valley of California with his wife Tonya, where they are long-time members of Calvary Baptist Church, under the mentoring leadership of Pastor Marshall Stevens.
